Wallabies Handle Typhoon, Nab 3-0 Win
|
The Taiwan Tech University Typhoon got a sterling performance from pitcher Ming-hoa Mai, but the University of Sydney Wallabies still prevailed, 3-0. Mai threw 5.2 innings allowing 3 runs. Malcolm Reilly claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3.1 innings. His record stands at 2-1. Earning his 11th save of the year was Robinson Rojas.
Li-ren Fu contributed to the University of Sydney win with a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Fu.
University of Sydney is now 23-19.
