Riding the 5-hit performance of the 19-year old first baseman Tokutomi Jouon, the Waseda Bear clipped the University of Queensland Koalas, 2-1, in 13 innings. The winner was Waseda reliever Tsunayoshi Saito, now 2-2. The loser was Leo Bywaters. Makoto Hashimoto recorded his 1st save for Waseda.

Jouon had a game-changing home run in the top of the 13th. On a 2-2 cutter from Leo Bywaters, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Bear a 2-1 lead. It was the 8th home run of the year for Jouon.

Waseda manager Shunsen Yoshioka commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."

The 4th-place Bear sport a record of 15-26.
