Avocat Snatch Late Win
For the home crowd, it was a thrilling walk-off win.

The Hosei University Avocat did just enough to secure a victory over the University of Sydney Wallabies, 2-1, in 12 innings at Federals Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Kiyoshi Endo. Kazuhiro Koda was the winner in relief. His record is now 3-0. The losing pitcher was Robinson Rojas.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 12th inning, when Hosei University second baseman Mashashi Kawai, facing Vinnie Dunshea, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Avocat the 2-1 win.

Said Kawai: "It's just one win, but it feels like more when you outlast a tough opponent."

The 'W' lifts Hosei University's record to 18-13.
