The Tacoma Loggers defeated the Portland Chinook, 10-4, in Humboldt action at Tacoma Stadium. Giampaolo Eremitani pulled his weight. The 1-year veteran went 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Sandro Martínez got the win, improving to 2-0. He held the Chinook to 3 runs on 4 hits over 6.2 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 2. The first-place Loggers now have a win-loss record of 39-23.

Keishi Yamashita had a big 2-run double for the Loggers in the bottom of the second inning. With Tacoma trailing 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a cutter from Jerome Evans, who finished 4th in the HUM in saves with 26 in 2038, and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Loggers ahead, 2-1.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said Tacoma manager Luke Hall.
