Arroyos Send Tempe Home with 7-0 Loss
|
Right-hander Jorge Berrios mesmerized the Tempe Apollos while leading the Yuma Arroyos to a 7-0 victory. Berrios yielded no runs over 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 4, and struck out 1. His record improves to 3-2. Elio Polandi closed out the game, earning his 1st save.
Curt Holloway, who is tied for 7th in the SL in bases on balls with 60, contributed to the Yuma win with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the third. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.
"I like the vibe in the clubhouse after a win," said Berrios. "It sure beats the alternative."
The last-place Arroyos sport a record of 48-84.
