Boosted by the 4-hit performance of Manuel Muñóz, who finished 5th in the IL in RBI with 98 last year, the New Orleans Trendsetters defeated the Kentucky Thoroughbreds, 8-1. Xiao-mei Cheung earned the save, his 2nd, for the Trendsetters. New Orleans currently is in third place in the Imperial League Dixie at 28-29.

In the top of the sixth, New Orleans second baseman Pete Acheson had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and one out, Acheson stroked a 2-run single to left-center. It made the score 4-0, New Orleans. For the game, he was 2-5 with 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

"We took it on the chin tonight," said losing manager Paul Conner.
