Meiji University pitcher Yoshitaka Matsuda did his part in helping his team defeat the Waseda Bear, 6-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. The winning pitcher was Matsuda, now 1-4. He tossed 5.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 2. Meiji University's record now stands at 14-17, placing them third in the Pacific League Tokyo Big6 Division.
Early in the game, left fielder Chip Foster had a 2-run double for Meiji University. It was his 5th double of the season and put the Troika on top, 2-0.
Foster called the win "a team effort."
