Rikkyo University Sent Home with 8-3 Loss
|
The Meiji University Troika downed the Rikkyo University Bishops, 8-3. The hitting star was first baseman Mitsuo Sugimoto. Sugimoto was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Troika. Ton Suzuki was the winner in relief. His record is now 2-1. The losing pitcher was Shusaku Kiyomizu. Takayuki Osada got the save, the 2nd for him this season.
Meiji University took control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, Ryuichi Ando hit a run-scoring single to make it 4-3, Troika.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Sugimoto.
Meiji University has a record of 12-17, placing them 4th in the Pacific League Tokyo Big6 Division.
