Koalas Win by Slim Margin, 2-1
University of Queensland starter Brendan Gillett pitched well against the University of Sydney Wallabies at Ballpark of Queensland. The right-hander led his team to a win, 2-1, in 11 innings. The winner in relief was Leo Bywaters. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3.1 innings. He now owns a record of 4-2. The Koalas improved to 15-12.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when University of Queensland center fielder Wally Sutcliffe, facing Robinson Rojas, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Koalas the 2-1 win.

"I was just taking it batter by batter, just enjoying the moment," said Gillett.
