The University of Sydney Wallabies got a sterling performance from pitcher Nathaniel Pride, but the University of Queensland Koalas still prevailed, 3-1. Pride threw 6.2 innings of shutout ball. University of Queensland reliever Leo Bywaters picked up the win to move to 3-2. Vinnie Dunshea suffered the loss. Jerry Sellick closed the game out for University of Queensland, earning his 7th save.

University of Queensland went up, 2-0, on Caspar Hill's 8th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Hill hit in the bottom of the eighth, left University of Sydney pitcher Vinnie Dunshea shaking his head.

"We'll enjoy this win for now, but it's just one," Hill told local reporters. "We've got to keep it going."

University of Queensland now sports a record of 14-12.
