Wind Dancers Earn Late 5-4 Win
The Toyama Wind Dancers polished off the Niihama-shi Ghosts by the score of 5-4. The largest share of the credit belonged to designated hitter Ramiro Salinas. Salinas was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Wind Dancers. Toyama reliever Motonobu Yoshida got the win, raising his record to 1-1. Curt Merrill was tagged with the loss. With the win, Toyama goes to 31-26, while the Ghosts fall to 32-24.

The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Toyama trailing 4-3, Salinas jumped on a cutter from 27-year old right-handed pitcher Curt Merrill and hit a 2-run home run to left. With one swing, the Wind Dancers had a walk-off win.

Salinas said this kind of win gives the team "a buzz."
