Koalas Lose 5-0 Decision to Taiwan Tech University
|
Taiwan Tech University starter Hsui-chen Dee put the University of Queensland offense in a vise grip. The right-hander relied heavily on his cutter in leading the Typhoon to a 5-0 win. Dee, now 2-0, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 6, walking 0, and allowing no runs. Taiwan Tech University, now 17-7, holds down first place in the Pacific League Supreme Division.
Kelsey Drew took University of Queensland hurler Charles Bowden deep in the bottom of the first. His 3-run home run put the Typhoon on top, 3-0. In all, Drew had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"I'm happy we won," said Dee. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
