Waseda Gets 7-4 Win Versus University of Sydney in 16
The Waseda Bear defeated the University of Sydney Wallabies, 7-4, in 16 innings in Pacific League action at Sydney Cricket Grounds. Waseda pitcher Toshinobu Kodo had a standout performance. Waseda reliever Stanley Johnson was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Brendon Browne took the loss. Earning his 1st save for Waseda was Sadakuno Kouki.

Ryutaro Mori drew 2 walks in 8 trips to the plate for Waseda. The 20-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the 16th. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Brendon Browne. It was his 8th RBI of the season.

"We didn't go down without a fight," said University of Sydney manager Ken McLaren.

By defeating University of Sydney, the last-place Bear improved to 3-16.
