Getting an impressive start from Alexander Willis, University of Sydney beat Meiji University by the score of 1-0. The second-place Wallabies hiked their record to 12-6.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when University of Sydney shortstop Cooper O'brien, facing Hideki Yamamoto, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Wallabies the 1-0 win.

"That's how you're going to be successful," said Wallabies manager Ken McLaren. "It starts with pitching and it will always be pitching."
