Thoroughbreds 1-0 Victors Over Farstriders

In a tight affair between the Kentucky Thoroughbreds and the Florida Farstriders, pitcher Juan Acosta was in the zone. The Kentucky left-hander helped his team win the game, 1-0. The winner was Acosta. He threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Ken Marshall. The Thoroughbreds win now puts them at 62-70.
The Farstriders had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Thoroughbreds going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the former first round draft pick Kyle Ferguson came to the plate. Ferguson hit a run-scoring double on a first pitch curveball from Florida hurler Ken Marshall. It was Ferguson's 13th double of the year.
"Bottom line," said Florida skipper Anastasio López, "we didn't play well enough to win."
