Underground Get Clutch Win Versus San Juan
|
In a tightly-contested game between the London Underground and the San Juan Coqui, pitcher António Trujillo was outstanding. The London left-hander, who is tied for 4th in the IL with a 0.84 WHIP, propelled his team's 2-1 win. London reliever Cecil Langley got the win, raising his record to 2-5. Peter Massey was tagged with the loss. The second-place Coqui dropped to 32-23.
Fernando Romero was the walk-off hero for London. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Underground pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We have a lot of confidence in António," said London manager Jorge Ornelas.
