New Orleans Triumphs with Late Surge
The Trendsetters grabbed a win, 3-1, at Raceway Park, overcoming a fine effort from Kentucky pitcher Juan Acosta. Acosta went 8 innings and allowed 1 run. New Orleans reliever Xiao-mei Cheung snagged the win, upping his record to 3-0. Mike Travis shouldered the loss. The 4th-place Trendsetters improved to 26-29.

New Orleans used the timely hitting of Mauro Chávez to seize the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Trendsetters on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Chávez.
