Oilers Win 3-2 Nail-Biter Versus Orcas
|
Oilers center fielder Israel Torrado put his stamp on his team's 3-2 win over the Victoria Orcas. Torrado was 4 for 7 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Long Beach in the contest. Long Beach occupies 5th place in the Humboldt at 18-24.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 14th. With one out, Torrado hit a cutter from Timmo Weerheim for a run-scoring single. The Oilers, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
Long Beach manager Gerardo Vargas called it "a pretty good win."
