Balloonists Tack 3-2 Loss on Edmonton
The Edmonton Mall Ratz were defeated, 3-2, by the Gatineau Balloonists at Mall Ratz Stadium, even though Zuhair Abbud pitched well for Edmonton. The win went to Peter Hill in relief, making him now 4-2. Zuhair Abbud took the loss for Edmonton. Diego Gómez notched his 24th save in 25 chances.

Gatineau used a timely hit from Dave Hickey to get the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Balloonists ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"It was a good effort all around," said Hickey.

With the victory, the Balloonists upped their record to 44-33.
