Spell Swords Score Late to Beat Camels, 3-2
|
The Lodoss Spell Swords took on the Brampton Camels at Forcelia Field.
In a low-scoring contest between the Lodoss Spell Swords and the Brampton Camels, Kosaku Ojima was the X factor. The Lodoss right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Henrik Braun snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. Cliff Morris suffered the loss.
Peer Talboom, who is tied for 4th in the PCAL in total bases with 134, took Brampton hurler Cliff Morris deep in the bottom of the eighth. His 2-run home run put the Spell Swords on top, 3-2. In all, Talboom had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Lodoss manager Hidekazu Yamamoto.
At 32-42, the Spell Swords claim last place in the Pacific Alliance Cherry Blossom.
