Late Rally Earns Red Deer 3-2 Win
|
In a tight tilt between the Red Deer Kings and the Kumamoto Mothra, José Barrera was the deciding factor. The Red Deer left-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Fred Sanders snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit over 1.1 innings. He's now 4-1 on the season. Earning his 3rd save for Red Deer was Kamiel Hessing.
Marcus Blackadder cracked a home run off Decheng Zhi in the bottom of the eighth. His 2-run blast put the Kings on top, 3-2. In all, Blackadder had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"Tough loss," said Kumamoto manager Mike Robinson. "But we'll rebound from it."
The Kings improved their record to 37-36 by beating Kumamoto.
