Codgers Score 6-3 Win Against Tempe

Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Palm Springs Codgers and Tempe Apollos.
Reggie Raines helped his team muscle past the Tempe Apollos, 6-3. In the game, the Palm Springs right fielder was 2-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Palm Springs reliever Bertrand Baverstock snagged the win, upping his record to 1-1. José Villarreal shouldered the loss.
Raines had a game-changing double in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-1 splitter from José Villarreal, he banged a bases-clearing double to center, giving the Codgers a 6-3 lead. It was the 7th double of the year for Raines.
"It was a team effort and I thought the guys had a good plan and approach," said Raines after the game.
At 33-21, the Codgers find themselves in first place in the Sovereign League Desert Hills.
