Mothra Come Back Late to Top Stampede, 3-2
|
Kumamoto pitcher Juan Torres had a large part in his team beating the Calgary Stampede, 3-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Decheng Zhi snagged the win in relief. He goes to 2-4 on the season. Oliver Fell suffered the loss. The third-place Stampede have dropped 5 straight games.
Kumamoto got a game-changing hit from Joshua Chivers. The shortstop blasted a 3-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a winner.
"We're scuffling right now," said losing manager Errol Grey.
