Laval designated hitter Sergio Grinán had a 3-RBI performance, which helped his team down the Quebec City Frenchies, 6-3. Laval is now 33-34, while Quebec City is 31-36.

Grinán had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 1-0 fastball from Mario González, he banged a 2-run home run to right-center, giving the Islanders a 4-3 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Grinán.

"Things didn't bounce our way," said Quebec City skipper Geoffrey Holland.
