Hurler Juan Rodríguez gave the Brampton Camels a solid start. The native of Panuco, Veracruz helped his team defeat the Sherwood Park Hoods, 2-0, at Hoods Ballpark. Brampton is now 37-26, Sherwood Park 19-44.

Rodríguez dominated for Brampton, raising his record to 6-5. Sherwood Park hitters had few good at-bats against the right-hander, who scattered 2 hits over 8 innings while striking out 6.

"Juan was hitting his spots," said Brampton manager Pepe Espinosa. "It's hard to pitch better than that."
