Borealis Win, 3-1, at Reno
|
In a tight game between the Aurora Borealis and the Reno Zephyrs, pitcher Thibault Dejean was terrific on the mound. The Aurora left-hander helped his team to the 3-1 win. In 5.1 innings, Dejean surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. Aurora is now 81-47. Reno is 63-65.
Mark Newton, who led the SL in triples with 14 last year, had a direct impact on the outcome. Newton contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put Aurora up, 1-0.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Dejean said.
