Codgers Get Hard-Earned Win
|
In a tight contest at Elderberry Field, the Palm Springs Codgers edged the Tempe Apollos by the score of 4-3. Palm Springs shortstop Enrique Rivera, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. Bob Miles finished to wrap up his 18th save. Palm Springs, at 32-21, is 2 games up in the Sovereign League Desert Hills.
Rivera had an important at-bat with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the seventh, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Codgers went on to win.
Palm Springs manager Bob Sullivan was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard," he said.
