Akira in Free Fall, Lose 8th Straight
The Niihama-shi Ghosts took Neo-Tokyo pitcher Marvello Pasco's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Neo-Tokyo Grounds. The final score had Niihama-shi getting past the Akira, 4-2. Pasco went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 8. Otso Lyytinen came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. His record now stands at 2-1. The slumping Akira have dropped 8 in a row.

Ryuzaburo Mori provided a timely hit. The Niihama-shi left fielder delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the ninth inning to put the Ghosts on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.

"We've got to kick it in gear soon," said Neo-Tokyo manager David Bell.
