Pitcher Iván Avalos was sensational for the Ciudad Juarez Velas in his team's 3-1 triumph over the Zapopan Torrenas. Avalos earned the win. The second-place Velas go to 14-9.
Orlando González hit a run-scoring triple off Juan Barrón in the top of the seventh, which put the Velas in front, 1-0. González had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 4.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said González.
