Torrenas Handle Ciudad Juarez, Snag 5-4 Win

The Zapopan Torrenas beat the Ciudad Juarez Velas, 5-4. Zapopan pitcher and Villahermosa, Mexico, native Alberto Guerra led the way. Picking up the save was two-time Glove Wizard Award winner Roberto Villa. Zapopan improves to 12-10 as they look to defend their championship.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the eighth, with the game tied, Ángel Garza was at the plate when Zapopan scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Torrenas to go in front, 5-4.
"It was our day today," Garza told the Zapopan Herald. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
