The Ciudad Acuna Mariachis picked up a win at San Luis Potosí Grounds, dropping the San Luis Potosi Jardineros, 2-1. Víctor Meléndez, who is a two-time All-Star, was the difference-maker. The save went to José Castro, his 5th this season. Ciudad Acuna is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 7th win in 19 games.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Cisco Ochoa? The 27-year old first baseman Ochoa stroked a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the top of the ninth inning to put Ciudad Acuna up, 2-1. For the game, he was 2 for 3, including 1 double and 1 single.
