The Hermosillo Sols rode a solid performance from 24-year-old starting pitcher Jaime Martínez to a win, beating the Naucalpan Cafe Tacvbas, 4-2, at Café Tacvbas Ballpark. Martínez picked up the win for Hermosillo, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 2-0. Salvador Heredia earned the save, his 3rd, for the Sols.
With no one out in the top of the fourth, António De Los Santos put Hermosillo in front, 2-1, with a run-scoring single. The Sols went on to win the ballgame.
"I just tried to focus on getting that first guy out every inning," said Martínez.
The Cafe Tacvbas are now 6-11.
