Starting pitcher Gerardo Díaz gave the Guadalupe Frijoles de Dios a rock-solid effort. The Nezahualczyotl, Mexico native helped his team defeat the Ciudad Juarez Velas, 3-1, at Velas Ballpark. Díaz yielded no runs over 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 3. His record improves to 1-2. The win has Guadalupe at 8-7.

Enrico Cruz cracked a home run off Iván Avalos in the top of the third. His 3-run blast put the Frijoles de Dios on top, 3-0. In all, Cruz had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
