Zephyrs Prevail, 5-3, Over Yuma

The Reno Zephyrs picked up a win at Salt Lick Stadium, dropping the Yuma Arroyos, 5-3. José Ojeda, who finished 2nd in the SL in innings pitched with 222.2 in 2039, was the difference-maker. Ojeda got the win, improving to 7-2. He gave up 5 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. He allowed 3 runs. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for Reno.
Kenkichi Daikawa had a big 2-run home run for the Zephyrs in the top of the first inning. With Reno leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a changeup from Aurelio Suárez, who is tied for 5th in the SL with a 9.3 K/9 rate, and punished it. The result was his 14th home run of the season, which put the Zephyrs on top, 3-0.
"That's what good pitchers do," said Reno manager António Morales. "They find a way."
