The Tempe Apollos beat the Palm Springs Codgers, 7-3, at Elderberry Field. The win was due in part to third baseman António Herrera, who was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Will Taylor earned the win to go to 3-5. He allowed 2 runs on 10 hits, with no walks and 2 strikeouts in 8.1 innings of work. At 29-22, the Apollos find themselves in second place in the Sovereign League Desert Hills.

With Tempe leading 2-0 in the top of the fifth, Herrera hit a fastball from Shigochiyo Yamaguchi for a 3-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Apollos ahead, 5-0.
