|
The Palm Springs Codgers beat the Bakersfield Bears, 8-3, at The Oaks at Aera Field. Palm Springs first baseman Jorge Fernández collected 2 singles and 1 double with 3 runs batted in. The loss puts Bakersfield at 3-3.
Palm Springs used the timely hitting of Robby Rollins to capture the win. The designated hitter stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Codgers on top, 6-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
Rollins attributed the triumph to "a good team effort."
