The Aurora Borealis faced a tenacious opponent in Palm Springs pitcher Takashi Yamamoto, but still scratched out a win at Elderberry Field by a final score of 2-0 in 11 innings. Yamamoto went 8 innings and allowed no runs. At 77-46, Aurora is in first place in the Sovereign League Desert Hills.

Aurora used a clutch hit from Pedro Luján to snatch the win. The third baseman belted a 2-run home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Borealis ahead, 2-0. It was his only hit, but it was huge.

"Exciting game to play in," said Luján. "Getting the win makes it even better."
