Zephyrs Losers, 5-4, to Bakersfield
|
The Bakersfield Bears did just enough to sneak past the Reno Zephyrs, 5-4, at Washoe Field. Bakersfield pitcher Rory Williams, in particular, had a standout performance. José López earned the save for Bakersfield, his 15th of the year. Bakersfield, at 46-76, sits in 5th place in the Sovereign League Desert Hills.
José Canseco aided the Bakersfield cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the fourth. For the game, the first baseman went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk.
"At the end of the day, wins and losses are really the only thing that matters," said Canseco.
