The Sacramento Deltas picked up a win at Devils Ballpark, dropping the Long Beach Oilers, 5-3. Bill Knight, who is tied for 2nd in the HUM in wins with 4, was the difference-maker. Knight got the win, improving to 4-1. He gave up 5 hits and walked 5 over 7.1 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Juan Otero locked down his 10th save.
The Deltas got a big at-bat from first baseman Pedro Flores. For the game, Flores was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. In the bottom of the third, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Sacramento a 1-0 lead.
"You need to show up when your number's called," said Flores.
The Oilers fall to 13-18 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2042 season.
