Eng-hee Chin had a good game, but he could not keep the Sacramento Deltas from falling, 11-8, to the Tacoma Loggers at Devils Ballpark. The Sacramento designated hitter was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 in the loss. James MacWatters, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-1. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 3 innings. The save went to Bill Frederick, his 10th this season.

Misagenes Madu had a big 2-run home run for the Loggers in the top of the second inning. With Tacoma leading 3-2 and a runner on 2nd, he got a splitter from 36-year old right-handed pitcher Chris Puddifoot and swatted a home run to left. It was his 5th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Loggers ahead, 5-2.

"We maximized our offense today," said Tacoma skipper Luke Hall. "That makes everyone's life easier."

Tacoma is now 21-9.
