Osaka Toin HS Eijisu Masters pitcher Tomohiko Ikeda was in fine form, leading his team past the Chiben HS Namami Samurai, 2-1. Mehdi Harambee, credited with the win in relief, is now 3-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.1 innings. Sumio Kanno nailed down his 7th save.
Had Yoshitoshi Ito not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Ito hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 1-0, in favor of the Eijisu Masters.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Ito. "And not try to do too much."
With the win, Osaka Toin HS upped its record to 11-5.
