Reno took on Neo-Tokyo in front of a lively crowd.

The Reno Zephyrs topped the Neo-Tokyo Akira, 6-2, in Sovereign League action at Neo-Tokyo Grounds. The standout performance belonged to Reno pitcher and San Luis Potosí, Mexico, native Ramón Carlos. Carlos, who is tied for 7th in the SL in complete games with 1, went the distance for Reno. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits.

Reno used the timely hitting of Yeijiro Sano to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Zephyrs on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"Been a rough stretch for us," said Neo-Tokyo manager David Bell.

The Zephyrs win now puts them at 25-22.
