The Tainan City HS Old Guard had to overcome a good performance from Chiben HS pitcher Yataro Fujita to claim a 3-2 win at Old Guard Field. Fujita went 5 innings and allowed 2 runs. Tainan City HS reliever Wei-quo Jiao picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Adolph Moench took the loss. Kun Zheng closed the door for Tainan City HS, picking up his 2nd save of the year.
Lieh Li aided the Tainan City HS cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the second. For the game, the right fielder drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate.
"That's baseball," said Chiben HS manager Alex Jones. "Sometimes the other team plays better than yours."
Tainan City HS is now 3-5.
