Díaz Homers Twice in 7-0 Herd Win
|
Miguel Díaz knocked in 5 runs to help Colorado beat Washington State, 7-0. The left fielder collected 1 single, 1 double, and 2 home runs. Kevin Lynch, the winner, improved to 4-0. He held Washington State to no runs on 4 hits over 6.2 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. Colorado currently is in third place in the Western 10 Conference at 30-24.
With Colorado leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Díaz hit a fastball from Chris Ervin for a 3-run home run. It was his 16th home run of the season and put the Herd ahead, 4-0.
"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Díaz told the Colorado News.
