Palouse Knights Toast Confederates, 11-3
|
The Washington State Palouse Knights romped over the Southern Miss Confederates, 11-3, at Ballpark of Washington State. Geoffrey Dawson led the way. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for Washington State. The Palouse Knights have now reeled off 6 straight wins.
In the bottom of the fourth, Washington State third baseman Gregg McKinley had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, McKinley stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 5-3, Washington State. For the game, he went 2 for 5 with 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2.
"Hitting is contagious. And when you have a lineup that's going to throw out competitive at-bats one through nine, it makes you want to join in," said Dawson.
