The Washington State Palouse Knights downed the Seton Hall Rampage, 7-0, at Rampage Stadium. Washington State pitcher Chris Ervin definitely brought his A-game. The winner was Ervin. He threw 5.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was José Montaño. Ted Burruss picked up the save for Washington State, his 1st of the year.

Jesús Heredia had a big solo home run for the Palouse Knights in the top of the third inning. With Washington State leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a slider from 21-year old left-handed pitcher José Montaño and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Palouse Knights on top, 2-0.

"I thought we competed really well," said Palouse Knights manager Richard Cota. "I thought the energy was really good."
