Lucky Rodents Capture Close Win
Fans watched the Minnesota Lucky Rodents and the Memphis Belles fight to the finish.

Minnesota starter Kent Sowder pitched well against the Memphis Belles at Ballpark of Memphis. The left-hander led his team to a win, 1-0. Joe Carter earned the save for Minnesota, his 13th of the year.

Jorge Torres came through with a big-time hit for Minnesota. The designated hitter smacked a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 1-0. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Sowder said.

The Lucky Rodents raised their record to 21-26.
