Yamaguchi Brings A-Game, Codgers Beat Akira
|
The Palm Springs Codgers, behind a great outing from Shigochiyo Yamaguchi, who leads the SL in innings pitched with 75.0, defeated the Neo-Tokyo Akira, 1-0, at Neo-Tokyo Grounds. Picking up his 15th save was 21-year old left-handed pitcher Bob Miles. The Codgers win now puts them at 28-18.
Yamaguchi subdued the Neo-Tokyo offense. The Palm Springs right-hander allowed a mere 2 hits over 8 innings, while fanning 9. His season record goes to 5-4 with the win.
"Shigochiyo was throwing free and easy," said Palm Springs manager Bob Sullivan.
