Confederates Dealt 3-1 Loss
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Rutgers Old Queens and the Southern Miss Confederates, pitcher Bryan Greer was the difference between victory and defeat. The Rutgers left-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-1 Old Queens win. Greer yielded 1 run over 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3. His record improves to 2-3. Alberto Icaza collected his 1st save.
Making an impact for Rutgers was second baseman Howard Clark. Bun Bun drilled a run-scoring double off Ermanno Beltrametti in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, Clark was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk.
Greer told a Rutgers Gazette reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
With this game in the books, Rutgers is 21-27, Southern Miss 28-20.
