Old Queens Lose at Home, 5-1
|
Starting pitcher Mark Hall had a solid game. He was a big reason the Louisville High Fives throttled the Rutgers Old Queens, 5-1. Hall yielded no runs over 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 3. His record improves to 2-6. The save was credited to Martin Vinter, his 14th.
It could have been a different outcome for Louisville, had it not been for Jeremy White, the 21-year old left fielder . White contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Louisville up, 1-0.
White attributed the win to his team's "dogged determination."
The win puts Louisville at 24-23 this season.
